Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) to treat Uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids can be treated with magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) thus avoiding myomectomy, or hysterectomy. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows docs to see inside the body by monitoring tissue temperature in real-time. MRgFUS is newer than uterine fibroid embolization (stopping the blood flow to fibroid tumors.)
